When the battery dies, you can plug the USB cable and continue using it. The more prejudiced among you would attribute that to pure luck, but I am likely to believe the battery life is OK. The battery lasts approximately 20 hours, and during my tests, it never died in the middle of the game. The Epic Chroma has a 32-bit ARM processor, which means every command you make is delivered at a very fast rate.

Still, you can solve that issue by mapping a couple of DPI settings to the Mouse 4 and Mouse 5 buttons. However, the mouse lacks DPI on the fly, which is a shame for such a seemingly sophisticated gaming peripheral. The Inter-Device communication feature allows you to temporarily change the sensitivity with one push of a keyboard button. The 1ms response rate in both wired and wireless mode makes the Naga Epic Chroma a top performer. The mouse is outfitted with an 8200 DPI 4G laser sensor and has a maximum acceleration of 50G. The mouse utilizes the Omron switches that ensure a great tactile feedback with each actuation you make. Even if I am not an MMO fanatic, I have to admit that it is super convenient to be able to hit the right button at the right time. What makes me a big fan of Razer-branded gaming mice is that the buttons are designed to be super sensitive.

The truth is that the buttons are large enough and the mechanical switches produce distinctive clicks. Others say that entrusting one digit with 12 buttons means you are looking for a trouble. Most FPS addicts I talked to consider the availability of 19 buttons overkill. I am trying to think of another mouse that possesses these capabilities, and I swear I can’t name such. Plus, you have two more so that you can swap between sets of key bindings. The Epic Chroma features the incredible number of 19 buttons as well as a 12-button thumb grid. Button LayoutĪs an MMO fan, you know that the more spells you have instant access to, the better. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that Razer guarantees the in-game configuration works only with the following game selection: WoW, Dota 2, LoL, Diablo 3, Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, Firefall, World of Tanks, Guild Wars 2, Ragnarok Online 2, Path of Exile, Star Trek Online, Lord of the Rings Online, Eve Online, DC Universe Online, and DnF (Tencent game). Other than that, the Naga Epic Chroma is a great MMO mouse that enables you to keep the most frequently used skills and macroses close at hand.Īpart from WoW, I haven’t mentioned any other game so far, but I did that on purpose. Personally, I like to keep only the most vital skills at hand, so I got frustrated with the availability of a whole lot of buttons I do not need. If you use it for playing a game that is not in the MMO genre, you have either to neglect the unnecessary buttons or remap every skill to your thumb.

However, its design makes it unsuitable for most gaming genres. Even if you have larger hands, you should not have difficulties using it. The Naga Epic Chroma’ body feels large enough. The lack of a high-speed scrolling feature came as a massive disappointment to me, but I guess even the most sophisticated gaming peripherals cannot have all advanced features in the world. The scroll wheel is a tilting one, and it has a nice rubber ring with little bumps around so you can smoothly scroll without putting too much pressure. (I believe it’s time for you guys to spark off a riot and demand more mice for lefties). The Epic Chroma is suitable for right-handed MMO warriors only. The design is adapted to meet MMO players’ expectations which makes the mouse relatively unsuitable for other gaming genres. That’s an awesome feature, given the fact that it comes with 12 programmable buttons and they need to be equally easy to reach. The mouse ships with Classic Grip, Palm Grip, and Claw Grip pads and allows you to adjust it, so that it perfectly fits the shape of your hand.
