If you enter an instance that is more progressed than your own and get saved to it, you will be locked to all prior bosses. You can move from group to group during a week as long as you’re joining instances that don’t have bosses alive you’ve already killed. You can only kill a boss once per week, and you may not enter an instance where a boss is alive that you have already defeated that week.Used for: Normal difficulty raids from Wrath of the Lich King through Throne of Thunder.

Raid sizes can be anywhere from 10 to 30 players, and difficulty automatically scales to match.Bosses are never locked to you, and you can always go back and kill them later even if you’ve skipped them by joining a group that had progressed further. You can kill a boss as many times per week as you like, but only loot it once per difficulty.Used for: All Raid Finder raids, Siege of Orgrimmar Normal/Heroic, Warlords raids Normal/Heroic. There are three types of raid lockouts used in the game. This will display your current lockouts, and time left until they reset. To check your current raid lockouts press your ‘O’ key in-game, select the Raid tab, and click on Raid Info in the upper right. Throughout the years, different raid lockout systems have been used, and multiple systems exist in the game depending on the system used at the time a raid was introduced. Raid lockouts limit the number of times a character can kill a boss in a week for a chance at obtaining loot from that boss. Legion and Battle for Azeroth Mythic raids use the Strict Instance-based Lockout. Legion and Battle for Azeroth raids on LFR, Normal and Heroic fall into the Loot-Based Lockout section. ICC had multiple versions, 10/25 normal and 10/25 Heroic alright and has different drops and achievements depending on difficulty.īelow is a link and quote from an old post we had explaining the various raid lockouts. What it displays by your minimap when you go in there has zero effect on the items that will drop because it’s only got 1 setting, there is no heroic version of this old raid Mythic Siege is a set size of 20 people though.īlack Temple doesn’t have different raid sizes or difficulties (outside of Timewalking during the Burning Crusade Timewalking event), it’s only got 1 setting and would use Legacy Loot as long as you are level 81 or higher. Solo it will act like and give loot as if 10 people where there. What it displays by the minimap won’t change unless you had over 10 people in there. Siege of Orgrimmar (and any raid that came after this one) uses flexible raid sizes, it scales depending on how many people are in there, 10-30 for Normal and Heroic modes. It works with ICC i choose 25 man heroic and i got into 25 man heroic. When i enter SoO on normal and heroic it stays on 10 man but it changes to 20 man when i choose mythic. When i enter Black Temple it says 10 man on minimap.
